Can Everyone Develop Clairvoyant Powers?
The term clairvoyance is a paranormal term which originated in the French language. Clair means clear in French, voyance means vision and voyant is a visionary. And clairvoyance is clear vision and a clairvoyant is an individual is clear visionary. However, the literal meaning is neither truly accurate nor helpful.
Complicating the definition further is the title ‘clairvoyant’ and has been used as a reference to other things in the years past. The word clairvoyant was gradually developed to apply to an individual who exhibited a number of psychic or paranormal abilities. The only total encompassing definition that truly fits is that a clairvoyant is an individual who has clairvoyance powers, i.e. the ability, outside of the five senses, to know things about an object, event, person or a location. And refers to a form of (ESP) extra-sensory perception.
A clairvoyant is usually involved in clairvoyance and that individual knows when something is happening at the moment and far from the range of that clairvoyants physical senses. There are, however, documented cases of a clairvoyant knowing of things happening either in the past or the future. Resulting in clairvoyance being considered by some as a form of prophecy or precognition.
The means through which a clairvoyant learns hidden information varies, but generally breaks down into one of six categories. Clairvoyance is perhaps most associated with the first form, the phenomenon of ‘remote viewing.’ In remote viewing, a clairvoyant sees a person, object, location, or event hidden from them. This sometimes takes the form of a visual hallucination, and other times as the clairvoyant ’seeing’ something in their ‘mind’s eye.’
A second form of clairvoyance is clairaudience. In clairaudience, a clairvoyant gains their information of the remote event by sound. They may hear voices or noises that other people (and recording equipment) can not. In some cases, the clairvoyant may her the voices of the dead, in which case that phenomenon may cross the line into mediumship.
The third form or type is called clairsentience. With clairsentience an individual gains their knowledge with feeling and touch. This may include the feeling an object that are not present. This is more of a feeling or ‘vibe’ that a clairvoyant gets from events, locations or people that are out of the clairvoyants visual view.
The fourth form or type is called clairalience and in this form an individual receives knowledge of distant places and events. As an example, a variety of flowers or grass in a meadow, the tang of blood or gunpowder. Since there are no apparent sauces for these scents, no one else around the clairvoyant can smell them.
The fifth form of clairvoyance is called clairgustance. With this form an individual who has no food within their mouth can taste various flavors, even though there is no apparent sauce. The clairvoyant can also identify the flavors from a distance.
The sixth and final form of clairvoyance is claircognizance. This is perhaps the most hard to define or explain. In claircognizance, a person knows something about a remote person, object, location, or event, but can’t explain how they gained that knowledge?they just know it. To some extent, claircognizance is a catch-all category of clairvoyance.
Many documentations of occurrences of people considered clairvoyants exist throughout history. From different cultures worldwide and has been incorporated into some religions of the world.
For example, in Buddhism, clairvoyance is considered to give humans the capability to reach advanced levels of meditation. And the ability to feel vibrations sent out by other people.
More than five hundred years ago, a disciple of Saint Francis named Saint Clair, had a vision where she witnessed the death of Saint Francis even though she was many miles away at the time. The Catholic Church, interestingly enough, had made Saint Clair the patron saint of television. Literally translated television means seeing over a distance.
There are, of course, many who are sceptical of clairvoyance. It is part of human nature for people to deny the existence of something just because they do not understand it. For example, even the existence of magnetism and electricity was denied by ’scientists’ not that long ago historically.
Whatever the skeptics say, they havent been able to disprove clairvoyance. The increase in evidence shows there exist many genuine clairvoyants in the world. Scientist, parapsychologist, and the public have become more open minded and accept the existence clairvoyance.
We do not understand how clairvoyance works, but this is no reason to deny its existence. It has been noted that humans in their distant past have all had the ability to use clairvoyance, but for some reason have lost that power. Thoughts are that everyone could become a clairvoyant again. If the effort is made and if they choose to develop their ability.
