IBM InfoPrint 1622 Printer using IBM 1622 toner is the series that replaced the Infoprint 1512 models. Infoprint 1622 is a monochrome laser printer from IBM, which offers speedy media printing for up to 35 pages per minute (PPM) in letter size papers. For the larger A4 size papers, the 1622 printer could produce 33 pages each minute.

The speed though is dependent on a number of factors such as the kind of document being printed, the configuration of the printer, the software that the media used, the drivers and the status of the printer. The printing of the Infoprint 1622 is faster than other laser printers of same price range. The printing speed of an 1622 Infoprint is equal to higher priced printer normally within the range of $875 upwards.

The 16 inches x14 inches x10 inches dimensions of InfoPrint 1622 makes it ideal for smaller settings. The printer could also be plugged into a LAN so it can act as a print server. The 1622 printer is able to print in duplex or double side. This feature enables it to print on both sides of the paper. With its 400MHz processor, printing can be done in no time even if with complex media.

The Infoprint 1622 printer is equipped with networking elements including a wireless technology. This wireless function allows one to move the printer quickly to a new location without using additional cables. The printer functions indoors and outdoors. If indoors, the wireless network could reach 20-50 meters. If outdoors, it could cover between 100-200 meters.

This monochrome laser printer can easily accomplish big volume printing. This printer can print up to 80,000 impressions each month. Using it at its maximum capacity every month may not be a good idea though as it can produce unnecessary strain on the IBM InfoPrint 1622 printer.
